The City Council of Palm Beach Gardens approved the Site Plan for the Avenir Town Center District comprising 51.37 acres. When built, the area will be the central amenities hub for Avenir residents and visitors, located just off Northlake Boulevard. The first phase of the Town Center is scheduled to commence construction in first quarter of 2023. This district includes 106,213 square feet of commercial space including a 51,908 square foot Publix grocery store with a drive through for an associated pharmacy, a 13,400 square foot drugstore/pharmacy with drive-through, and 40,905 of general retail or indoor restaurant space. In addition, 5,070 square feet of outdoor dining space.
The University of Florida and Jupiter Medical Center will partner to build a hospital in the Avenir community. Totaling 53,000 square feet in two stories, this neighborhood hospital will feature a 24-hour emergency room, 20 inpatient beds, operating rooms, a diagnostic laboratory, imaging services, and medical offices. Construction on the Avenir course is expected to be completed September, 2023. The Clubhouse facilities will be completed 18 months after the golf course is opened.
